I just want to let you know that I am giving up xanga for Lent!!!  See you in 40 days! :)

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

I don't have a cell phone (or any phone for that matter) and I am about to go CRAZY!!!  My roommates are getting irritated with me as well (always asking to use their phone).  But, they are being good sports - Kim more than Kelli - don't worry . . . I will pay for any minutes that you go over this month!!!  Ha ha!

Anyway, things in my life are a little out of sorts lately.  Lots of craziness, missing friends (big and small), longing for someone to just hold, missing time with family, being too busy to do what needs to be done, planning my  10 year reunion - YIKES!  Wow.  That pretty much sums it up.  I just hate Valentine's Day.

Sorry this is a depressing entry.  Let me lighten it up. . . Priya's dog school is going great.  She is doing well, but I found out she is so off the hook because we are feeding her a corn based product - and need to switch to lamb and rice.  Basically, the teacher said that feeding her the corn stuff is like feeding Twinkies to a kid with ADD!!  Isn't that funny?  Needless to say - we are weaning her from the corn and starting the lamb and rice.  I think it's working too.  We'll see.

I will try to update before 2 months go by.

- Amy :)

Okay - brace yourselves - I am updating!  I refuse to do the 5 crazy habit thing though - sorry girls.  I don't think I have any crazy habits, but if any of you would like to enlighten me with some - I am sure you would love to.  You all know my habits better than me.

I know I know - WHO DEY is no longer a happy word in my vocabulary - until next Sunday.  Then, I just might be over the big upset today.  At least I got to watch the game with my friend.  For those of you confused, he's the latest love in my life, gives the best kisses, and loves to cuddle - too good to be true!  He has the bluest eyes, and I think he likes me.  He hasn't yet told me so though.  We'll see. :)

My family is getting ready to go to Florida tomorrow, and I am staying here by myself.  Finally some time to relax!  I am sure I will find tons to occupy my time.

Well, I gotta get going for now.  Merry Christmas everyone!

- Amy :)

Time for another update . . . don't get too excited!  It's Friday night, and I just got home from work (so I didn't get to join the millions of shoppers for the day after Thanksgiving sales!)  I am kinda tired, kinda lonely, and mostly just bored (though there are tons of things I could be doing.)

Yesterday, Thanksgiving was nice, but different - my parents and Aly weren't there, so that made it weird.  Also, we helped my grandparents put up their Christmas decorations, and let me just say = my grandpa is hilarious!!  First of all, he is 90 years old, and needless to say - has his way of doing things.  For example - their Christmas tree was in this OLD box which was falling apart completely - and he had it tied with about 10 different strings/knots.  So, my brother and I were just sliding off the ropes, and he got mad because we didn't untie each knot!!!  So, he took the long string of rope and began untying each one.  CRAZY!  Then, he made sure that we had the 40 year old directions about which color branches go where - we wouldn't want to mess up the order!  Finally, he made us tie the tree to the wall because, "when you get those lights on there, it's liable to fall over, and that would be a big mess!"  Oh - fun times.

After the feast and decorating party, I ventured back to Mom and Dad's to work out - YES - you read correctly . . . I worked off my turkey on my elliptical (man do I miss having that thing!)  Then, Priya and I watched football on the big screen in high definition = I really need one of those (okay - want).  It was really nice though.

Well, that's my Thanksgiving update.  I hope everyone else had a great day.

Everyone - I am back!  You can thank your lucky stars.  Since the contest between Bethany and I ended (she finally updated her site - so I win!!)  Now, you can hear from me more - if I have time.  I will try to give you a brief update of the past 7 months of my life - I can't believe it's actually been that long.  Here we go . . .

May: Started my new assignment at work (on the inpatient rehab unit).

June-July:  Went to India, had a blast, learned A LOT!, lost 10 pounds, conquered the biggest physical challenge of my life!, and met lots of new friends - God is really awesome!

August: Had Vacation Bible School at church which I was really unprepared for, but had fun doing anyway.  Thank God for faithful workers to help me out. - I am still getting over culture shock.  Oh yeah - and I have a new puppy, Priya - she is too cute!  AND - my new niece, Annabelle has arrived - she is adorable.

September: Getting situated in my new home with Kim and Kelli (my roomies) - peeling wallpaper, painting, and getting organized.  TOTAL CRAZINESS!  Oh yeah - and UC is back in session, so Collegiate Ministry fun has begun.  Aly left for Jordan - I am sad :(

October: Trying to find time for myself . . . nearly impossible.  BUT - this month I meet the cutest little boy at work.  He is one of my patients, and I love him to pieces.  Please pray for him and his family - God knows his name and needs.  Traveled to Philly and Salt Lake City this month for work - good times.

November: Here I am = can't believe how quickly time flies.  I think I am figuring out some sort of "schedule" - thank God for my loyal roommates helping me out with the dog - you guys rock!  I still miss Aly though.

Well, that's it I guess.  It's Saturday night, and here I am = writing on xanga.  Pretty sad I guess.  I did have fun eating at Max and Erma's with the girls tonight.  They are actually the ones who pressured me to begin writing again.  Thanks guys.

Let me end with this statement for the record - Kelli and Amber can sing REALLY loudly - I could hear them on the street (they were in my dining room) . . . too much!
